Instrumental, Psych, Stoner – Meet Gavial Haze

From the high altitudes of La Chaux-de-Fonds emerges a band that doesn’t need words to say everything. Gavial Haze is a Swiss instrumental psych stoner quartet that’s been sculpting sonic landscapes since 2017. Originally a trio, they expanded ahead of their first international shows in Italy and haven’t stopped growing in scope—or intensity—since.

Their sound is a heady fusion of 70s heavy rock, melodic twin-guitar psychedelia, and thunderous stoner grooves. But it’s not just about riffs. It’s about movement, imagery, storytelling without lyrics. It’s music that howls, speaks, seduces, and detonates—all through the language of the instrument.

If you ask them who sings in the band, they’ll tell you:
“The guitars are the singers.”
And once you hear them, you’ll believe it.

Following the release of their self-titled debut album this summer, Gavial Haze has made it clear—they’re not just here to play gigs. They’re here to terraform minds.

Propane Kid – No Voice, No Mercy

It starts in whispers. An arpeggiated riff from a lone guitar flickers in, delicate and unassuming. Then, a second guitar joins in—not in competition, but in harmony—weaving a melody that feels like it could carry a memory. And just when you think you’re safe, the sky collapses.

What makes it special?

• Dual Guitars as Storytellers – Like characters in dialogue, the guitars aren’t just layered—they’re in conversation. Sometimes aligned, sometimes divergent, but always expressive.
• Crushing Rhythms – The drums don’t just keep time; they tear holes in it. Each fill crashes like thunder, and the groove that follows is heavy enough to level a hillside.
• A Bassline That Breathes – Far from just holding the root, the bass moves, morphs, and grounds the chaos. It adds a pulse that keeps the whole thing alive.
• Ever-Shifting Energy – Propane Kid never sits still. Rhythms twist. Phrasing mutates. Wah-soaked leads screech like lightning cutting across scorched skies. And yet… there’s coherence. A narrative. A shape.
• Emotion Without a Single Word – There are no lyrics, yet the story unfolds clearly. Each section feels like a scene—a call to arms, a revelation, a fallout. It’s as if five different voices are speaking through the fretboard at once.

Propane Kid doesn’t sound like a typical instrumental song. It sounds like a band with five screaming mouths and zero microphones—and somehow, it works beautifully.
