Weβre hitting pause on pedal production for a short while.
Why? In addition to our full-time jobs, weβve been juggling the Nerd Lab/Tone Maps, building/soldering, support, accounting, packing, and shipping on top of ongoing health treatment (post-pituitary surgery, hormone replacement, and managing adrenal insufficiency). This summer brought a lot of hospital back-and-forth and a couple of Addison crises. It caught up with us. Weβre exhausted and need a reset.
What this means
- Pedal builds are paused. All pedals are now available on Pre-Order. Pre-orders quietly keep our little workshop alive during this break and remind us why we should get back to the bench as soon as possible.
- Estimated resume: early October 2025.
- Vacation notice: Sept 13β21, 2025 (βlazy R&D – Rest & Dolce vitaβ). Because of medication logistics, this will be our first break since Nov 2023, and we need it to come back stronger. Bear with us if we take a little longer to reply to messages.
Nerd Lab & support
- The Nerd Lab remains online and free. If itβs useful, you can buy us a coffee (or a pizza!), it truly helps keep the lights on while we recover.
- For order questions, just reply to your confirmation email. If you prefer not to wait, weβll cancel and refund, no hard feelings.
Panhypopituitarism & acromegaly; why this matters.
The pituitary gland is the bodyβs hormone control center. Since his surgery, Thomas lives without a pituitary (panhypopituitarism), so his body no longer makes key hormones, including those that regulate vital functions. That means lifelong replacement and constant vigilance against adrenal crises. He also manages acromegaly; a small residual adenoma near the carotid requires ongoing injections and monitoring. Read more about acromegaly, your awareness can make a difference.
Thank you
This community has been unbelievably kind. Weβll post updates as we go and aim to get back to building as soon as itβs sensible. Thanks for sticking with us and for giving us the space to heal.
With love from Basel,
Simone & Thomas
