Week 8 places the Touring Board in the hands of a musician who does not just play instruments. He masters them.
Alex Gardey is a French multi-instrumentalist based in Switzerland, and one of those rare artists whose musicality is immediately obvious. Guitar, bass, drums, keys, piano, ukulele. Whatever he picks up, it becomes part of a coherent musical language rather than a technical exercise. Nothing feels stacked. Nothing feels forced. Everything locks.
His sense of timing is surgical. His groove feels inevitable. The kind that makes a click track redundant.
One loop a day, and never the same idea twice
Over the past months, Alex set himself a simple but demanding challenge: one loop per day, shared publicly.
The concept is straightforward. The execution is anything but.
Each loop is built step by step. Drums, always precise and alive. Bass lines that do far more than support, they define the track. Keys that add depth without clutter. Guitars that alternate between rhythm, texture, and lead, always serving the idea rather than showing off.
What makes these loops special is not complexity for its own sake. It is musical intelligence.
The grooves stay in your head. They make you want to pick up an instrument and chase the feeling yourself. More than once, we heard one of Alex’s loops and immediately reached for a guitar to try and capture that same energy.
That kind of inspiration cannot be faked.
A complete musician, not a collection of skills
Alex’s background explains part of this versatility. He has played in a wide range of bands and styles, from gypsy jazz to death metal, rock and pop. Today, his musical life spans several active projects.
He plays bass in Blind Call, acoustic guitar for Unexplained and for his solo work, and electric guitar in the progressive punk band SiXiZ. Each context brings out a different side of his playing, but the common thread remains feel, timing, and intent.
No matter the role, Alex listens first. Then he plays exactly what the music needs.
Inside Blind Call
Blind Call are an alternative hard rock band from Aarau, Switzerland, formed in 2023 and driven by a blend of dark intensity and raw rock energy that pulls equally from modern hard rock and classic grit. Since early 2025, the band has been fronted by vocalist Lara Stürmer, whose voice brings a new emotional depth and dynamic range to the music, shaping a sound that feels both powerful and vulnerable.
At the core of the band’s momentum sits Alex Gardey on bass, where his deep sense of groove locks everything into place and gives the songs their pulse and weight. Guitarist Andrea Scuderi adds edge and texture, balancing tension and melody with a sharp, confident touch, while Dominic Siegenthaler anchors the whole sound behind the kit, driving the band forward with tight, controlled energy and feel.
Together, Blind Call operate with clarity and force, combining tight rhythms, heavy moods, and a strong collective identity that comes through clearly in their latest single Don’t Blame It On The Moon, released on June 19th and marking the first chapter of this new lineup.
