RhPf Touring Board Week 7 Dome Mhai

Week 7 brings the Touring Board to Bern and places it in the hands of Dome, guitarist and vocalist of Mhai. With this stop, the journey shifts once again. The sound opens toward the south, while remaining firmly rooted in Switzerland.

Mhai are an Italian rock band based in Bern. They write and perform original music in Italian, carrying a Mediterranean sensibility into a Swiss setting. Rather than blending those worlds into something abstract, the band lets them coexist naturally. The result feels honest, direct, and personal.

From a focused beginning to a shared direction

Initially, between 2021 and 2023, the project took shape in a more compact form. During that period, Mhai released their debut album, Io Vivo. With it, they introduced a sound driven by melody, emotion, and a clear southern flavour. The album invited listeners into a musical language shaped by feeling rather than excess.

However, the project did not stand still. Since 2024, Mhai have grown into a full band. Today, the trio moves forward together, expanding both their sound and their presence. Dome continues to lead on guitar and vocals, while Mischu brings bass and voice, and Nico anchors the band on drums. Together, they perform Italian rock music they compose themselves, building songs through collaboration rather than repetition.

Italian rock, shaped by intention

At the heart of Mhai’s music lies language. Italian lyrics do more than carry meaning. They shape rhythm, phrasing, and emotional weight. As a result, the songs unfold with a natural flow, allowing melody and voice to guide the listener.

At the same time, the band avoids overstatement. Instead of chasing trends or polishing edges, they focus on clarity and feel. The music leaves room to breathe. It invites attention without demanding it. Whether in the earlier solo phase or in the current band format, the core remains unchanged. Songs come first. Everything else follows.

The Touring Board enters a new space

With Week 7, the Touring Board steps into a different musical context. Italian rock introduces new phrasing, new dynamics, and a different sense of timing. Here, the pedals do not compete for attention. Instead, they support the song.

Consequently, the board adapts. It responds to melody, voice, and movement. Rather than pushing extremes, it settles into balance. This week highlights how gear changes character depending on who plays it and why. The Touring Board continues its journey by absorbing another musical identity and carrying it forward.

Why Week 7 matters

The Touring Board exists to reflect the Swiss music scene as it truly is. Multilingual. Multicultural. Personal. Mhai embody that reality in a quiet but confident way. An Italian rock band based in Bern, writing original music, and shaping their sound step by step.

Ultimately, Week 7 adds warmth and melodic depth to the journey. It brings a southern touch without losing focus. Most importantly, it reminds us that music does not need borders to belong.
