Individual Tone Maps (Legacy)

We moved things around! The newest version of the Tone Maps can be found here ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Weโ€™re keeping this page as an archive. If you want the full experience with all Tone Maps in one place plus new tools and functions, check out the latest version.

The Individual Tone Maps: Dive into the tone-shaping DNA of some of the most iconic and beloved guitar pedals.

This growing collection of interactive frequency response graphs lets you visualize how different designs affect EQ curves, highlighting the unique sonic fingerprints that define each circuit. Whether you’re chasing a classic sound or analyzing subtle differences, this library offers a deeper understanding of what youโ€™re hearing, and why. Watch your tone evolve as you change the settings.

What it does

  • Adjust the controls on the pedal or with sliders
  • Compare two pedals side by side
  • Share or embed a Tone Map

How to use it

  1. Open a Tone Map from the library by clicking its name
  2. Drag, touch or scroll the knobs, and use the switches to explore the tone
  3. Click Share to copy a link or get embed code
  4. Switch on Sliders for easier control
  5. Hit Compare, paste the link of another Tone Map, and see both curves together
  • The library is also growing: more pedals, more circuits, more visual tools are on the way.
  • Your favorite pedal is missing? Head to the reddit post to request it.
  • Known bug: toggle switches are not active in sliders of the main pedal, we are working on it!
Special Thanks

This update wouldnโ€™t have happened without ElliotG from The Gear Page. He not only suggested a better way to visualize the data but also ran full simulations to show it was possible. His dedication and countless hours of work motivated me to move from single-knob plots to full multi-knob curves, which so many of you requested. Huge thanks for that contribution!
