RhPf Electronics – Swiss-Built Guitar Pedals with Purpose
RhPf Electronics is an independent guitar pedal builder based in Basel, Switzerland. From the start, we design and hand-build original effects pedals for guitar and bass with a strong focus on musical response, clarity, and feel.
Rather than producing clones, reissues, or replicas of existing circuits, every RhPf design starts from a blank page. Over time, each circuit evolves through extensive listening, playing, measuring, and refinement. As a result, we build pedals for musicians who care about how an effect reacts under the fingers, not just how it sounds in isolation.
RhPf Electronics was founded by Thomas and Simone as a passion project that gradually grew into a small, human-scale workshop. What began as a personal recovery path ultimately became a way to connect with musicians, builders, and creative communities across Switzerland and beyond.
What We Build
RhPf Electronics designs boutique guitar pedals covering a wide range of effects, including overdrive, distortion, fuzz, clean boost, modulation, and time-based effects.
Our approach favors:
- Dynamic response over compression
- Musical EQ shaping over extreme tone stacks
- Expressive gain structures that react to picking strength and guitar volume
- Circuits that sit naturally in a mix rather than overpower it
Each pedal is designed to be usable across genres without being locked into one sound or style. We do not believe effects belong to specific genres. Tone comes from hands, instruments, and context.
All pedals are built, assembled, tested, and finished in Switzerland.
Original Circuit Design, Not Clones
Originality is central to RhPf Electronics.
We do not recreate famous pedals, trace vintage schematics, or release “our take” on classic circuits. Instead, we design our own topologies, gain structures, filtering approaches, and control interactions.
Development includes:

- Refinement based on feel, not only measurements
We choose technology based on sound and usability, not ideology, this is why some RhPf pedals use analog circuitry, others combine analog and digital elements when it serves the musical goal.

Swiss-built is not a marketing label for us. Instead, it reflects how we work, carefully, deliberately, and with respect for craft. Accordingly, we design and build every RhPf Electronics pedal in Switzerland, following the principles behind official Swiss indications of source as defined by the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property.
Each pedal is individually tested before shipping.
