This week the RhPf Nerd Lab was featured in the latest BassWeek digest from BassLife, a long-running Russian speaking platform for bassists and gear enthusiasts.

Here’s what they wrote:

“RhPf Electronics is a small Swiss company made up of two enthusiasts who design and hand-assemble guitar stompboxes. Their website features a fascinating collection of frequency responses for various well-known stompboxes. In the Nerd Lab section, you can choose various pedals, tweak the knobs, and see how they affect the sound’s amplitude and frequency response. You can also compare the frequency responses of stompboxes with each other. It’s a very engaging experience. Highly recommended.”

Reading that put a real smile on our faces. This is the first time someone outside of our own network has highlighted the Nerd Lab. It feels good to see this project reaching people who love gear as much as we do.

What the Nerd Lab Is

The Nerd Lab is our space for curious gear minds. It’s a growing collection of interactive tools that help players, builders, and tinkerers understand how circuits shape tone.

• Tone Maps show the EQ fingerprints of pedals like the RAT, Klon, and our own Mosferatwo.
• IV Bench reveals real diode I-V curves for clipping design.
• Tone Map Wishlist lets the community vote on what comes next.
• Tone Profiler helps match pedals to playing styles in a fun and simple way.

All of it is free to explore. It started as a side project for our own designs and slowly turned into something bigger.

Who BassLife Are

BassLife was founded in 2007 by Alexander Ledkov and has become a respected Russian-language platform for bassists. It features news, reviews, lessons, and the BassLife Podcast with over 90 episodes. For many musicians, it’s a trusted source of gear knowledge and community.

Why It Matters

The Nerd Lab has always been about sharing knowledge and celebrating the technical side of pedals. Seeing it featured by a respected gear platform shows that it’s resonating with players out there. That means a lot to us.
