Mosphoros Master of MOSFET

Guitar Pedal X on the Mosphoros Overdrive

Stefan Karlsson from Guitar Pedal X recently published a full article on our pride of an Overdrive, Mosphoros: The MOSFET Bringer!

The headline alone made our day. Stefan introduces the piece by calling Thomas “Master of MOSFET”. Then goes on to describe Mosphoros as a super touch-sensitive, dynamic and vibrant overdrive. From the beginning, the review focuses on the same qualities that shaped the circuit during development. Responsiveness, harmonic richness, and the way the gain unfolds as the controls move.

What the Review Highlights

One theme runs through Stefan’s entire article: responsiveness.

He repeatedly points to how closely Mosphoros follows the player’s touch. Pick attack, guitar volume, and small adjustments to the controls all influence how the drive develops. Rather than jumping immediately into heavy saturation, the gain builds progressively and remains lively under the fingers.

That dynamic behaviour appears several times throughout the review.

Harmonics and Interaction

Stefan also emphasizes the harmonic character of the circuit. In his description, Mosphoros produces rich harmonics while keeping notes articulate as the gain increases.

He also notes how effectively the pedal responds to the guitar’s volume control. Allowing the sound to clean up naturally while retaining its identity. That interaction between harmonic richness and responsiveness gives the pedal a particularly expressive playing feel.

A Distinct Voice Within the MOSFET Line

The article also places Mosphoros within the wider RhPf lineup.

Stefan compares it with other MOSFET-based designs such as Mosferatwo and Tri-Harmonic Phalanx, noting that each pedal explores MOSFET gain structures in its own way. In his view, Mosphoros stands out for its lively response and strong harmonic presence, giving it a clearly distinct voice within the family of RhPf drives.

Stefan’s Verdict

Toward the end of the article Stefan describes Mosphoros as a “wholly unique overdrive”, highlighting its dynamic behaviour, harmonic depth, and expressive response.

Seeing those qualities recognized so clearly in a detailed review is always satisfying after the years that went into developing the circuit.
